TIPS TO KEEP YOUR DASHBOARD SHINING

HOME MADE RECEPIES TO KEEP YOUR DASHBOARD SHINING

The car dashboard is often overlooked while cleaning since stains and dust are not really visible on it, in spite of it being the one area of your car that is always visible to passengers.

The good news is that cleaning your dashboard is easy. All you need are a few ingredients that you can find in your homes.

Best recipes for cleaning your car dashboard

A solution of vinegar, dish soap, and oil

Vinegar acts as a disinfectant and its acidic nature can remove stains from your dashboard. The dish soap helps remove any grime and grease, while the baby oil gives it a nice shiny finish. You can also use any mineral oil if you don’t have baby oil.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp of white vinegar
  • 1 cup of warm water
  • 1 tbsp of dish soap
  • 1-2 tbsp of mineral oil or baby oil

Mix these ingredients in a spray bottle and spray it on a microfiber cloth free from lint. Use the wet cloth to wipe down the dashboard.

Baking soda

Baking soda is the best DIY car freshener. Since most smells are acidic, the basic nature of baking soda acts as a pH neutralizer and gets rid of unnecessary smells in your car.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of baking soda

Just sprinkle the baking soda on the affected areas and wait for an hour. After an hour, vacuum up the baking soda or dust it off. If you want your car smelling nice, add a few drops of your favourite essential oils to the baking soda and mix it well.

Lemon juice and olive oil

A solution of lemon juice and olive oil is an effective cleaning agent that will leave your car looking fresh and shiny. The lemon juice’s acidic quality removes the dirt and grime while the olive oil adds a shiny, protective coating to the surface.

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup of lemon juice
  • 1 cup of olive oil

Mix both these ingredients in a spray bottle and spray the solution into a microfiber cloth. Use this to wipe down the dashboard.

It is always wise to test the natural products on a small surface of your dashboard before you use it on the entire surface to ensure it doesn’t have an adverse effect on the dashboard surface.
